EMDR

In-person in Anchorage and online throughout Alaska and Florida.

Sound like you?

  • You know what happened, but certain memories still feel painfully present.

  • Your body reacts before your mind has time to remind you that you are safe.

  • You understand the story, but the emotional charge has not fully changed.

  • You know “it wasn’t my fault” and still feel shame, guilt, or responsibility in your body.

You can bridge the gap between knowing the past is over and finally feeling that it is.

A Different Way Through

EMDR can help.

It may feel impossible now, but you can remember what happened without feeling pulled back into it. You can begin to feel that the past is actually over. And I can help you get there.

EMDR is a structured trauma-processing approach that helps your brain reprocess distressing memories so they feel less immediate and overwhelming. Using bilateral stimulation, we work with the images, emotions, beliefs, and body sensations connected to the experience.

EMDR helps you:

  • Reprocess distressing memories so they feel less intense and emotionally charged.

  • Shift negative beliefs that became attached to what happened, such as “It was my fault,” “I’m not safe,” or “I’m powerless.”

  • Reduce the gap between what you know and what you still feel, so your body and emotions can begin to catch up with what your mind already understands.

EMDR may be a good fit if…

  • You have a specific memory, event, or belief you want to work on.

  • You get caught in repetitive thoughts or memories.

  • You feel more comfortable with guided trauma processing.

  • You’ve tried talk therapy, but it has only taken you so far.

What we’ll work on

Imagine a life where…

  • You wake up and your mind isn’t already somewhere in the past.

  • You go to work, meet a friend, or spend time with your family without one small thing throwing off your whole day.

  • You have hard moments, but they gently pass instead of following you for hours.

  • You laugh, rest, connect, and enjoy things without your mind pulling you somewhere else.

See what becomes possible.
